Seaglass Jewelry

I wanted to write a post that doesn’t revolve around food- although we all know I could talk and write about recipes all day. This Saturday, I have a table at one the local high schools for a craft fair they put on each November. This will be my second year and I am coming back with some new ideas and better techniques. I learned a lot last year, and my love for seaglass has expanded outside of wire wrapping earrings.
For those of you who do not know about seaglass/my connection to it, I find all of it on the beaches of Long Island whenever I am home in New York. There is something magical about looking for the smooth glass among the sand. It’s like a treasure hunt! I started by wire wrapping smaller pieces with sterling silver half hard gauged wire. I like the whimsical look of the wire wrapping, but I wanted to try my hand at drilling pieces as well. I started with larger pendants and have been practicing getting my placement towards the top!
I *ONLY* use sterling silver wire, clasps, chains and jump rings for my jewelry. I am sensitive to other materials, and I would never create something that I would not be comfortable wearing myself. Hope to see you all there Saturday November 4th!
